My journey with the EXPA CADET program has been an incredible source of learning, unlearning, and re-learning. When I completed my NCC journey in 2020, I had a growing desire to stay connected with the organization in any way possible. In 2022, I discovered the EXPA CADET program. I successfully completed the Cadet Trainer’s Orientation Program (CTOP-6) and transitioned from being an NCC cadet to an EXPA trainer.
With each camp’s training, I have learned different approaches not only to training but also to life from each and every trainer. The interaction with both trainers and cadets injects a unique kind of energy in me. From my first camp as a trainer to my most recent one, I have seen myself improve and unlearn certain things, which I believe is a wonderful takeaway as a trainer. The satisfaction and sense of contentment I feel after each training session are beyond words.
This program has changed countless lives, including mine. It has sparked self-confidence, instilled courage, raised social awareness, and offered endless learning opportunities to everyone who has participated. I see myself as more confident, courageous, and adaptable now, and for that, I am deeply grateful to EXPA. For bringing out the best in me, for highlighting areas that could be improved, and for shifting perspectives on what requires more learning, kudos to the EXPA team and the CADET program.
